Cruise the Queen Charlotte Islands of Canada and discover unique flora and
fauna
An 11-day holiday including Vancouver (1 night), Queen
Charlotte Islands Cruise (7 nights) and Vancouver (1 night)
Often referred to as Canada’s own ‘Galapagos’,
the Queen Charlotte Islands form a unique archipelago situated
50 miles west of Prince Rupert on the northwest coast of
British Columbia, and have a vegetation, wildlife and cultural
history that have evolved in relative isolation over the
last thousand years.

The Queen Charlotte Islands or Haida Gwaii...are one of the
richest biological and cultural areas in North America. This
remote archipelago provides unparalleled wilderness cruising
and exploring. Aboard our 68’ sailing vessel, we will
see ancient native Haida villages, an incredible abundance
of wildlife and outstanding wilderness scenery.

The bird watching is excellent, with puffins, auklets, and
eagles. Hundreds of thousands of seabirds nest on the islands.
We will see Steller sea lions and expect to spot a variety
of whales. Theories suggest that parts of Haida Gwaii escaped
the last ice age, forming a glacial refuge for certain forms
of plant and animal life. How else to explain the presence
of plant species found nowhere else in the world, and noticeably
different sub-species of bird, fish and mammal?
